Panacur (fenbendazole) is one of the most widely used worming treatments in the UK, manufactured by MSD Animal Health. It is effective against roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, Taenia tapeworms, and the lungworm Oslerus osleri. Panacur is particularly valued for its safety in pregnant animals and young puppies and kittens.

Panacur is available in several forms at different prices. The liquid suspension and granules are the most economical for multi-day courses.

Prescription Requirements

Panacur is classified as POM-VPS (Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian, Pharmacist, SQP). You do not need a veterinary prescription, but it must be supplied by a vet, pharmacist, or SQP. It is widely available from online pet pharmacies and retailers.
