Oral Use.
To ensure a correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as
possible.
The recommended dose rates are: 15mg/kg bodyweight febantel, 5 mg/kg pyrantel
(equivalent to 14.4 mg/kg pyrantel embonate) and 5 mg/kg praziquantel. This is
equivalent to 1 tablet per 10 kg (22 lbs) bodyweight.
The tablets can be given directly to the dog or disguised in food. No starvation is
needed before or after treatment.
Underdosing could result in ineffective use and may favour resistance development.
The advice of a veterinarian should be sought regarding the need for and the
frequency of repeat administration.

Revised: August 2025
AN: 01103/2025
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the
excipients.
Dogs:
Very rare (<1 animal / 10,000
animals treated, including
isolated reports):
Digestive tract disorders (diarrhoea, emesis)
Lethargy, anorexia, hyperactivity
Reporting adverse events is important. It allows continuous safety monitoring of a
veterinary medicinal product. Reports should be sent, preferably via a veterinarian, to
either the marketing authorisation holder or its local representative or the national
competent authority via the national reporting system. See also the last section of the
package leaflet for respective contact details.
Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for one common type of tapeworm –
caninum. Tapeworm infestation is certain to reoccur unless control of intermediate
hosts such as fleas, mice, etc. is undertaken.
Tapeworm infestation is unlikely in pups less than 6 weeks of age.
Parasite resistance to any particular class of anthelmintic may develop following
frequent, repeated use of an anthelmintic of that class.
Unnecessary use of antiparasitics or use deviating from the instructions given in the
SPC may increase the resistance selection pressure and lead to reduced efficacy.
The decision to use the product should be based on confirmation of the parasitic
species and burden, or of the risk of infection based on its epidemiological features,
for each individual animal.
In the absence of risk of co-infection with nematodes or cestodes, a narrow spectrum
product should be used.
The possibility that other animals in the same household can be a source of re-
infection with nematodes and cestodes should be considered, and these should be
treated as necessary with an appropriate product.
