About

What is Bravecto?

Bravecto is a long-acting flea and tick treatment manufactured by MSD Animal Health (Merck). Its active ingredient is fluralaner, an isoxazoline compound that kills fleas and ticks by disrupting their nervous system.

For dogs, Bravecto is available as a pork-flavoured chewable tablet that provides 12 weeks of protection. This is a significant advantage over monthly treatments — just 4 doses per year instead of 12. For cats, it comes as a spot-on solution applied to the back of the neck.

Bravecto kills fleas within 8 hours and ticks within 12 hours of exposure. It does not cover worms, lungworm, heartworm or mites (except demodex in dogs at higher doses). If your dog needs worm protection, you will need a separate worming product alongside Bravecto.
